The Queensborough Community College men's basketball team continued it's strong play with a decisive 90-47 victory over LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City on Thursday evening. The win is the fourth straight for the Tigers, and the tenth win in their last eleven games dating back to December 6, 2022. The only loss during that stretch came to the #2 ranked team in NJCAA Division II.
On Thursday, the Tigers were once again led by freshman sensation
Anthony Walters, who led the Tigers with a team-high 25 points, to go along with 11 rebounds. Walters is currently leading NJCAA Division III in scoring, averaging a nation's best 25.5 points per game. He was not alone on Thursday night as the Tigers received key contributions from freshman
Bryan Godette (14 points and 15 rebounds), and sophomore
Stephon Flores (19 points, 7 assists, and 7 steals).
With the win, the Tigers improve to 11-6 overall on the season, and 5-2 in CUNYAC play. The Tigers will return to action on Saturday, January 28th, when they will travel to the Bronx to take on the Caimans of Hostos Community College in a pivotal conference match-up.
