Role of the Student-Athlete Academic Advisor
The Student-Athlete Academic Advisor facilitates the success of the student-athlete in the attainment of his or her goals – both Academic and Athletic. 

Responsibilities include:
  • Advisement and registration of student-athletes on all Queensborough varsity teams, always keeping in mind the requirements of participation in varsity sports.
  • Outreach to incoming recruits to inform them of admissions requirements, including transcripts and immunization records.
  • Ensuring curricular and financial aid requirements are met.
  • Developing academic degree plans for all student-athletes and performing degree audits.
  • Creating a welcoming environment for all students. Maintaining a flexible work schedule to accommodate student-athletes’ schedules.
  • Communicating with coaches about important information relating to advisement and registration.
  • Keeping coaches updated on the academic progress of their student-athletes.
  • Following all NJCAA rules, as laid out by the Director of Athletics, relating to academic eligibility for all student-athletes.
