On August 16, 2023, Queensborough Men's Soccer announced the addition of Calvin Salmon to the coaching staff for the 2023 season, where he will serve as an assistant coach. He replaces Momodou Sawaneh who left the program to take on an organizational role with NYCFC of Major League Soccer (MLS).
Coach Salmon returns to Bayside where he served as head men's soccer coach from 1997-2008. During his tenure as head coach with the Tigers, he led the team to the 1999 CUNYAC Championship, as well as the 1999 Region XV title. Most recently, he has served as the head coach of Real New York FC since 2014. He has also served as head coach for the New York Magic U20 squad and Real Caribe SC, and has also served as an assistant coach for the New York Magic women's program. As a player, Salmon starred for Queensborough Community College from 1979-1981, prior to a 13-year playing career with Real Caribe FC from 1981-1994.
Coach Salmon is a graduate of Queensborough Community College with an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a graduate of the New York Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Salmon holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "A" Coaching License, a USSF "B" Coaching License, and a NSCAA Director of Coaching Certificate.
