The Queensborough Community College men's basketball team rolled past the Red Hawks of LaGuardia Community College in the semifinal round of the CUNY Tournament on Tuesday evening in Bayside. With the decisive 64-33 victory, the Tigers now head to the CUNY Championship game on Friday at BMCC where they will take on the Caimans of Hostos Community College.
Against LaGuardia, QCC was led by sophomore
Diego Cruz Lopez, who led all scorers with 23 points on five of eight shooting from three-point range, to go along with five steals. Freshman
Byron Sun also added 11 points, giving the Cruz Lopez-Sun duo a total of 34 points, outscoring the Red Hawks as a team on their own.
