The Queensborough Community College men's basketball team won their fifth consecutive game on Tuesday evening, with a 75-74 come from behind victory on the road at Monroe College-Bronx. With the win, the Tigers improve to 6-5 overall on the season.
Trailing the entire game, the Tigers would take the lead for the only time with 6.2 seconds remaining, when sophomore
Preston Harts showed all heart by draining two free throws to turn a 74-73 deficit into a 75-74 lead. As time ran out, Monroe College-Bronx could not make a desperation field goal attempt, and the Tigers left New Rochelle with the important Region XV road victory.
For the game, the Tigers were once again led by freshman
Anthony Walters with 27 points and 7 rebounds. Also scoring in double digits were sophomore
Rohan Singh with 19 points, and sophomore
Stephon Flores with 14 points.
Preston Harts would contribute 9 points and 8 rebounds, including 7 for 8 from the all important free throw line.
The Tigers will return to action on Thursday, January 12th, when they will travel to Brooklyn to face CUNYAC rival Kingsborough Community College in a pivotal conference match-up.
