The Queensborough Community College baseball team split a doubleheader with Nassau Community College on Saturday at Mitchel Field in Uniondale, New York.
In game one of the doubleheader, freshman
James Cummins threw a complete game, while striking out three in a 9-6 victory over the Lions. His strong pitching performance was aided by sophomore
Sean Lynch, who went 3-for-4 with three runs batted in. Freshman
Billy Tavarez also went 3-for-4 with two runs batted in.
In game two, the Tiger bats would cool off, as they fell to the Lions by a score of 12-3.
With the split, the Tigers stand at 5-11 overall on the season, and 4-8 in CUNYAC play. They will return to action on Tuesday, April 25th, when they will host the Express of Monroe College-Bronx starting at 3:30 p.m. at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn.
