Queensborough Community College sophomore baseball standout and 2023 CUNYAC Player of the Year, Leonard Alvarez, enjoyed an outstanding collegiate summer league season with the East Coast Sandhogs of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL).

For the season, the right-handed hitting outfielder batted .329 with two home runs and ten RBI's in only 24 games. In addition, he also stole nine bases and struck out four batters in 4.1 innings of pitching in relief. For his efforts, he was selected to the ACBL All-Star Game and helped lead his team to a 21-11-1 record in the regular season.

Next season, Alvarez will take his talents to NCAA Division II Queens College of the East Coast Conference (ECC), where he will compete for a starting spot in the Knights outfield.
