The Queensborough Community College baseball team stunned the 15th-ranked Sharks of Suffolk Community College on Sunday with a 7-5 victory in the series finale of a 4-game series played this past week.
Sophomore outfielder
Noah Tannenbaum drove in four runs on the day, all coming on a grand slam to center field in the second inning. The slam would help the Tigers build a 7-run lead through three innings before holding off the Sharks by two in the end.
In addition to Tannenbaum's heroics, Queensborough received a huge day from sophomore starting pitcher
James Cummins, who fired a complete game on the mound while also going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a solo home run.
With the win, the Tigers improve to 1-3 overall on the young season. They will return to the field on Tuesday when they open a 4-game series with the Borough of Manhattan Community College.
