Queensborough Community College sophomore pitcher
James Cummins fired a dominant no-hitter on Sunday afternoon in a 11-1 blowout against Bronx Community College at Padavan-Preller Field. It's the first Queensborough no-hitter since Ryan Sandberg accomplished the same feat while striking out 16 batters on April 28, 2018 at Suffolk Community College.
On the day, Cummins dazzled the Broncos bats keeping them off balance and completing the no-hitter on only 68 pitches. Cummins gave up one unearned run in the game while walking one batter and striking out seven. At the plate he also went 1-for-3 with a double and a run batted in. He was supported by freshman
Wyatt Rodriguez (2-for-2, 3 RBI) and sophomore
Billy Tavarez (1-for-3, 2 RBI).
