The Queensborough Community College women's soccer team fell short of their goal of winning a CUNYAC Championship in their inaugural season on Sunday at Queens College.
Despite numerous chances early in the match, the Tigers were unable to convert, and the Panthers of the Borough of Manhattan Community College took full advantage, by quickly countering the Queensborough attack with quality chances of their own. Freshman goalkeeper
Kiara Jimenez Diaz was outstanding in the first half while keeping the game within reach at halftime with a score of 3-0. However, in the second half, the BMCC pressure proved to be too much as the Panthers cruised to victory by a final score of 7-0.
With the loss, Queensborough ends their season at 2-5 overall in their very first season of play in program history. With the first season under their belt and the experience of playing for a conference championship, the Tigers will look build on the success of this season as they continue to lay the foundation of the program for many years to come.
