The Queensborough Community College women's soccer team made history on Monday afternoon by recording the first win in program history, with a 6-0 victory over visiting Kingsborough Community College.
Coming into the match, the Tigers had been defeated in their first two contests thus far in their inaugural season of play. With the win, Queensborough is now 1-2 overall on the season.
In the match, the Tigers were led by a pair of freshman who provided the bulk of the scoring on the day.
Caroline Barahona and
Julia Wiacek both had big days for Queensborough, with Wiacek recording the first hat trick (three goals) in program history, as well as recording the first assist as she added a helper on the first goal scored in program history. That first program goal was scored by
Caroline Barahona, who came up big on the day with two goals and two assists, while fellow freshman
Kayla Vizhnay contributed a goal of her own.
The Tigers will return to action on Thursday when they will travel to Brooklyn, New York to take on Kingsborough once again in conference action.
