The Queensborough Community College women's basketball team picked up a crucial victory on Thursday evening at home when they defeated the Wave of Kingsborough Community College by a score of 56-51. With the win, the Tigers improve to 7-11 overall on the season, and finish conference play with a record of 5-5. The win over Kingsborough clinches the #3 seed for the upcoming CUNYAC Tournament, which begins on February 14th.
The Tigers were led by a pair of freshman on Thursday evening, with both players combining to provide the majority of offensive production.
Nayla Walters led Queensborough with another outstanding double-double, scoring 26 points and grabbing 21 rebounds. It is her second 20-20 performance of the week.
Isabella Casey also recorded a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds in the contest. Fellow freshman
Brianna Griffiths also added 17 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive end.
The Tigers are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, February 7th, when they will travel to New Jersey to take on Middlesex Community College in a non-region match-up.
