The Queensborough Tigers are the 2021 CUNYAC Women's Volleyball Champions!
The Tigers defeated Hostos Community College three sets to none tonight in Bayside. This marks the sixth consecutive season that the Tigers have taken home the title, and it's also the second time in the past three seasons that they've won the title on their home floor, in the Robert F. Kennedy Gymnasium. Early on in the match it was clear that the Tigers would not be denied on this night, as they dominated the first set, winning by a score of 25-4. From there Hostos would improve their play and challenge the Tigers before falling in the final two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-18.
The victory by the Tigers marks the 55th consecutive win versus a CUNYAC opponent (regular season and postseason), dating back to the start of the 2015 season. The Tigers are now 16-2 overall and will be the #1 seed for the upcoming Northeast District Championship Tournament this Saturday, which will be hosted by Queensborough.
