The Queensborough Community College women's volleyball team split their Region XV double dual on Saturday at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, NY.
In the first match of the day, the Tigers defeated long-time CUNY rival, the Borough of Manhattan Community College three sets to two. The Tigers were led by freshman
Laury Rodriguez (nine kills), freshman
Aryam Perez Capellan (16 assists), and sophomore
Amber Rosario (26 digs).
In the second match, the Tigers were defeated by the Fashion Institute of Technology by a score of three sets to one. In a losing effort, QCC received key contributions once again from
Laury Rodriguez (nine kills),
Aryam Perez Capellan (16 assists), and sophomore
Samantha Mateo (20 digs).
With the Saturday results, the Tigers now stand at 6-4 overall, with a perfect CUNY record of 6-0. Queensborough will return to the court on Wednesday, October 1st when they will travel to the Bronx to take on the Express of Monroe University-Bronx.
