The Queensborough Community College women's volleyball team won their home opener on Monday evening with a 3-0 sweep against the Red Hawks of LaGuardia Community College. With the win, the Tigers improve to 4-3 overall on the season and stand at 4-0 against City University of New York (CUNY) opponents.
The Tigers were once again led by freshman
Aryam Perez Capellan, who recorded a team-high 26 assists, while fellow freshman
Laury Rodriguez led the team with ten kills and two blocks. Sophomore
Samantha Mateo had a strong showing once again with nine kills, four service aces, and nine digs.
The Tigers will return to the court on Wednesday, September 24th when they will travel to Brooklyn to take on the Wave of Kingsborough Community College.
