The Queensborough Community College women's volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday on the campus of Kingsborough Community College, as part of a weekend regional double dual versus Rockland Community College and Westchester Community College.
In the opener, the Tigers would defeat Rockland by a score of 3-0. Queensborough was led by sophomore
Desiree Morales with 9 service aces and 13 assists, freshman
Angelica Hernandez with 11 digs, and sophomore
Lisbeth Ortiz with 8 kills.
In the second match of the day, the Tigers fell to Westchester three sets to two. The Tigers were once again led by
Desiree Morales with 21 assists. She was supported by freshman
Brianna Griffiths with 11 kills, and fellow freshman
Angelica Hernandez with 21 digs. With the split, the Tigers are now 7-5 overall on the season.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, October 4th when they will host CUNYAC rival, Kingsborough Community College.
