The Queensborough Community College women's volleyball team defeated LaGuardia Community College on Tuesday evening three sets to one in their first match of the 2024 season.
The Tigers were led by sophomore
Michelle Liu and freshman
Olivia Olchawa, who both contributed nine kills on the evening. Sophomore setter
Isabel Torres contributed a team high 20 assists, while sophomore libero
Cynthia Saravia Reyes led the team with nine digs.
The Tigers will face the Red Hawks once again, when they travel to Long Island City next week for the second match of a home-and-home series to start the season.
