The Queensborough Community College women's volleyball team won both matches of a Region XV double dual on Saturday at Kingsborough Community College. The Tigers defeated the Broncos of Bronx Community College three sets to none, and knocked off the Caimans of Hostos Community College for the second time this week by a score of 3-1. With the wins, Queensborough improves to 3-3 overall on the season and stands at a perfect 3-0 against CUNY opponents.
In the match against the Bronx, the Tigers were led by freshman
Aryam Perez Capellan who recorded a team-high 13 assists, 11 service aces, and four digs. Against Hostos, Queensborough was led by freshman
Laury Rodriguez (ten kills), sophomore
Amber Rosario (16 digs),
Aryam Perez Capellan (28 assists), and sophomore
Samantha Mateo (ten kills and ten service aces).
The Tigers will return to action on Monday, September 22nd when they will host the Red Hawks of LaGuardia Community College in the RFK Gymnasium on the Queensborough campus in Bayside.
